What a fun age
I was realizing today how nice it is to be able to leave 2 kids in the living room to play while I go do my make up or get dressed for the day. They are at the age now where they can play with the same things and Sophie actually shares with Brody. I ask her why she shares with Brody and she says "Because he's a baby!" I know there will come a day when Brody won't want to share with Sophie and there will be fighting, so I figured I should appreciate this time I have right now. The past few days I have gotten some good pictures with them both playing in the living room and sharing toys....too cute! Sophie will even bring Brody a toy if he's fussing for it and can't get to it. I know this phase won't last, since I have heard from my friends already that have 2 and they do a lot of fighting.
Brody is soooo good at sitting up now! Now he just gets frustrated when he can't move to get to the toys!
Sophie was sooo proud that she got tons of Brody's toys and pu them all within his reach.
Both kiddos playing with their new house that Grampy got them. Sophie tries to have me knock on the door so she can tell me to "come in mom," then I have to let her down and tell her that I obviously cannot fit through that hole! Brody just loves to watch Sophie play, or he chews on the doorknob......boys!
Christmas
We had a great Christmas with both sides of the family this year.....busy, but great! I would have more pictures, but Nick has yet to load any of the oictures from his camera onto our computer. So, maybe later. Sophie got a kitchen from Santa, so she's been busy making cookies, pancakes, and frappachino's (I guess she sees mommy drinking them too much!) Brody got a lot of clothes ans toys, which sadly he has only been interested in Sophie's "big kid" toys. He gets aggrivated though because he sits up, but can really move fast enough to get to her toys to play with them. Sophie loves all of her toys, but she got this pillow thing for her bed, from her Grampy. Since she doesn't sleep with a pillow, I didn't actually think she would use this as a pillow. But it has been in her bed ever since and she sleeps on it as a pillow everynight!
Sophie also got quite a few tutu's to add to her dress up collection, and she decided to find a different way to wear them instead of around her waist. I guess this is what happens when you're stuck inside for a few days in a row!

Santa
Last year Sophie was deathly afraid of Santa, so i though this year she would be a year older and enjoy Santa...boy was I wrong! So the only pictures we got with Santa this year were pretty sad, but here goes! With my luck, Sophie will be okay with Santa next year, but Brody will then be afraid of him.

Obviously it still didn't help with me being in the picture!
We tried to get Sophie to take a picture with Brody by the tree, no Santa...and as you can see, she was still upset from the Santa picture before. She couldn't even stop crying to take a good picture with a TREE! She was practically pushing Brody away too....ah, sibling love!

First manicure
It is hard to tell in the picture, but Sophie has her nails painted. With all the snow and rain I decided that we needed something new to do if we had to stay indoors for a few days. So, I bought a light pink...in case she wiggled and it went all over her fingers! But she actually stayed very still and I dried them with a blow dryer. I can't wait to give Sophie another manicure, it was a lot of fun!
Big Boy Now!
Brody has his first session with his occupational therapist yesterday. She was out at our house to see Brody about 3 weeks ago, and he was having a lot of problems. But when she came today to work on his rolling and sitting, she was very surprised at what he learned to do in the last 3 weeks! Brody had a lot of fun with her, which made her happy because she said that normally kids cry through the whole session. Brody can now sit, but we have to keep a pillow behind him because he'll just fall backwards because he doesn't pay attention. He also stands with someone holding him a bit, which is a BIG improvement because before he wouldn't put any weight on his legs. After the 45 minute session Brody went right now for a nap because he was exhausted! We look forward to his next session in 2 weeks!

Snow Day
So we did have lots of plans Friday until the snow came.....it was pretty and all, but I didn't want to be driving in it. We decided to stay home and keep cozy instead. Even that was a great idea until Sophie noticed it was snowing and wanted to go outside, so we all bundled up and went out to play. Of course not 5 minutes later she wanted to come back in! So we spent the day going out to play in the snow, in spurts. I figured we should enjoy it while it lasts!
It didn't take her long to figure out that it tasted like ice when she ate it....so I think she consumed quite a bit of snow today!
Our backdoor window was accumulating quite a bit of snow.
Poor Brody, we dragged him outside with us even though he could probably care less! He looked so cute all bundled up though!
Thanksgiving
We had a busy but fun Thanksgiving this year! We all went to my aunt's house for dinner, and they had their pool heated so all the kids got to swim....so of course Sophie had a great time! We ate a lot of good food, played games afterwards and got to see my wonderful cousin and her fiancee (which we don't get to see fotne enough!) Then the next morning, Friday, we left for Louisianna for the weekend with my parents and my sister's family. It was hectic, but the kids had endless fun playing outside together and I just had fun spending time doing nothing with my family.
Gotta love a heated pool!
Not sure who got such a great laugh out of him, but thanks!
The kids made a tent outside and played in it for a while!
We had to stop halfway there to eat lunch, so picked up stuff at a drive thru and thought we might eat outside at a rest stop at some benches. Little did we know that there weren't many rest stops once you got into LA., so yes....as the kids started to cry we just stopped wherever we could find and it was an RV Park. That's when I really realized that I'm not a camper, although I was already pretty sure of that! Also, funny thing we noticed was that outside of the RV's some people had NICE cars, we saw an Infiniti and a Lexus.
