New Stuff
I have been trying out some new products lately and they have amazed me! I have always wanted to "go green" in some ways, such as cleaning products, but I always have a problem sticking to it when they don't clean as well as the regular products. I also have stressed out about cleaning products because I hate how bad they are for the kids, especially when they touch the surfaces after I've cleaned them. So I have been using environmentally friendly and organic dishwasher powder, multipurpose cleaner, detergent, and children's vitamins. Everything is super concentrated, so the products last forever! To use the all purpose cleaner, all you have to use is 1/4 tsb. of it with 16 oz. of water..and it cleans everything. Just thought I'd share, especially with all the mommies who always want the best stuff around their kids!

Family Vacation
We went on our family vacation this summer to the Marriott Hill Country Resort in San Antonio. It was wonderful, we got there on Friday and the guys took the kids to the pool while my mom, sister, and I went to get facials, massages and body wraps! Then we ate dinner at the resort. We got up Saturday morning and the guys went to play golf for Father's Day and the girls took the kids to the pool. That night we went out in San Antonio for dinner since it was my nephews B-day. We put the kids to bed Saturday night and went to sit by the pool and drink a bit, they had the best fruity drinks! Then we woke up Sunday morning, headed back to the pool, ate lunch, then checked out of the hotel to head home. It was a great weekend, and the kids loved spending time altogether! Here are just a few pictures.
Medical Issues Continued...
So we have continued to go back to Sophie's wonderful GI Dr. since her reflux refuses to go away! The latest news is that she sent Sophie to an allergist to get tested for food allergies. The testing came back with a couple minor food allergies, but we took those foods out of her diet, and they proved to be doing no harm. So she is back to eating all foods again, but we went back to Sophie's allergist last week to get her tested for environmental allergens. He decided to test her for those, and add chicken in there...since he didn't test for that before. Turns out she had a reaction to chicken! It's pretty rare, and he said she will probably grow out of it. But now we were told to taker her off chicken for 3-4 days to see if it helps things...we're on day 2 and nothings changed. So, her reaction to chicken might turn out being nothing that we have to worry about.
Next step is on Monday, TCH is redoing Sophie's blood test for Celiac disease (gluten allergy). Unfortunately it's not a very easy test to do...so I felt the need to go out and buy her a treat for afterwards (the Woody doll from Toys Story)! I guess her GI Dr. just wants to make sure that it still comes back negative, since she's been eating gluten for a few months now. After that, the next step may be to do a stomach emptying test. It's non invasive, but fairly hard to do with a 2 year old. It involves having Sophie eat something that will show up on the scan, then have her lay down, very still, for an hour and a half...while they watch her food move throughout her intestines and such. Her Dr. isn't sure if that will be the next step since it might be impossible to do.
I will definitely keep everyone updated on things!

Latest Tu-Tu
Well, I haven't made a tu-tu in a long time it feels like, a few months I guess. But I got asked by a friend to make this tu-tu for a little girl's B-day party recently. It really made me realize how much fun it is to make them! Of course Sophie thought it was for her, and wanted to wear it. I guess she's hinting that I should make her a new one! It turned out VERY cute, and I enjoyed making it. Too bad I don't have more friends with little girls! Please pass the word around that I make tu-tu's, because I don't get to do it often enough. Thank you Bridget for letting me make this one!
New Shoes
Now that Brody is really walking, I decided to get him some "real" shoes! I just got him some tennis shoes, since they didn't have any sandals in his size. I brought them home, and right away he lifted his foot up as if you say "put them on!" He loves shoes, and he hates taking them off. I snapped a few pics with him trying them on for the first time. Yes, he's wearing a diaper, no pants, and tennis shoes...consider it a fashion statement!
