Cherish the Moments

I always love it when the kids play together! Those times are few and far between, so when it happens, I take LOTS of pictures and listen to them giggle for quite some time. Today they were pretending to "sleep" and Sophie was making sure that Brody was "snug as a bug in a rug." That's what we do with Sophie every night before bed, and when she was doing it with Brody, he was laughing hysterically!

Princess Tea Party

Last weekend, amidst our busy days, I took Sophie to a princess tea party. A few of her friends went as well, and she had a lot of fun! The put on tiara's, ate heart shaped cookies, made Valentine's, and read a princess book. It was a very cute idea, put on by Pottery Barn Kids in Highland Village.

They were told to bring their favorite doll, so she brought the Zoe she had just gotten from Sesame Street Live earlier that day.

a SMALL gluten free accomplishment

So, Sophie and I have been eating gluten free for a couple weeks now and I have only started the process of trying out new recipes. Ever since starting the GF diet, I have truly missed bread!! Everyday I look in the pantry, or make Brody a sandwich, and every time I'm tempted to eat a sandwich with regular bread. So, I decided that I would try out every recipe I had to in order to find a bread recipe that I REALLY enjoyed. Also, mind you, I have bought most of the frozen breads too, and I'm quite unsatisfied. So, I finally made a loaf of bread the other day, with a new recipe...and it turned out quite good! I am surprised at myself that I made anything at all, much less a loaf of bread from scratch! My search isn't over, but for now.....it's slowed down. I realized after I had sliced most of the bread, and put it in baggies to be frozen, that I hadn't taken a picture of this wonderful loaf of bread! So, here it is....yummmmm!

Daddy/Daughter Dance 2011

This is Sophie and Nick's 2nd year to go to the Father/Daughter Dance at RPCC. Last year, Sophie talked about dancing with her daddy every night for about a month afterwards! She was very excited about tonight, and had a hard time picking out an outfit. She soo desperately wanted to wear a tutu, but I told her it was VERY cold, so she decided that she would wear jeans under her tutu! She decided on her hair in piggy tails, and butterfly tattoos on her hands. She wanted her nails painted, but these days she bites her nails...so that went down the drain. She decided on her sparkly tennis shoes, as opposed to dressy shoes because as she said it "they are the best for dancing!" So, off they went tonight after dinner, and I'm sure Sophie is dancing her little heart out right about now....so more pictures to come.

What a painful smile....she really was happy not in pain. She hasn't quite figured out how to smile for pics!!haha
