Dance class here we come!!

We decided that since Sophie isn't going to be in Preschool this Fall, that we should get her into something else. So we decided that since she likes to dance sooo much, we put her in a dance class. She's been talking about it since May! Her first class will be August 14th. Her class is once a week, Saturday mornings, and it's half tap and half ballet.

Today we went to get her tap and ballet shoes. She was very excited and even wore her tap shoes around the house for about an hour (honestly, that's all I could handle!) So here are some pictures of her in her new shoes!

Next Test

Just an update, Sophie will go to Texas Children's next Thursday at 10am to have her gastric emptying test done. Wish us luck! Our only problem will be her laying still for an hour and a half.....but they do have a DVD player in the procedure room, so we might just be okay!

Creative Fun

Brody has pretty much figured out how to climb everything, but on this day he was quite proud that he figured out how to climb into the dishwasher! Not sure if the door can hold this much weight...but at least he's on the lighter side. Now every time he hears me open the dishwasher door he runs into the kitchen to take his usual place while I unload the dishes. My little helper!

Ponytail

As many of you know, Sophie was born with very little hair and it's just been a slow process of growing out longer! So we have mastered the art of "piggy tails" as she calls them, but now I wanted to try a real ponytail. This is how it turned out, a little thin, but still cute!

Sophie's Test Results

After relentlessly calling Sophie's GI Dr. today, she finally called me back. Sophie's Celiac Test results came back negative. That's good and bad now, her Dr. has narrowed down that her problem is food allergy related, since we've done the testing, and not reflux medication related, since she's put Sophie back on med. and it didn't help. Which is tricky, because now we have to schedule the stomach emptying test. We will need a lot of luck and an act of God, to make Sophie eat oatmeal then lay still for an hour and a half! I really hope this test comes back with something that can help us, because Sophie's Dr. has been GREAT, but I'm not sure she knows what the plan is after this test! We shall see.

July 4th Weekend

We had a GREAT July 4th weekend! Nick, Sophie and I headed to Austin Friday morning so the girls could make it to the bridal luncheon. My cousin, Carly, got married to a wonderful guy over the weekend. We had decided to leave Brody with my in-laws since we would be out late every night, and would have a very busy schedule. It was a total change to have only 1 child for 4 days, but we missed Brody terribly!! We went out to dinner Friday night for my B-day, and had wonderful Mexican food. Saturday was the rehearsal lunch, then Sunday was the wedding. Sophie was the flower girl, so naturally I was very worried about what she would do...and if she would even walk down the aisle! But, once we put her leotard, tu tu, and glitter shoes on, she's was all business! She was great at the wedding, and even stayed up dancing until 11. It was a fun weekend, and we're very proud of Carly and Chad!
