Christmas chaos!!

Well, now that the Christmas chaos has wound down I'm finding time to post! We had a great X-mas, despite Sophie being horribly sick and her 1 year molars were coming in as well. Sophie hasn't been sick really since LAST X-mas, so I'm hoping this doesn't become a new tradition. So, we trudged along from house to house despite what Sophie wanted to do, and lived through this X-mas. Sadly, she wasn't the least bit interested in opening gifts again this year, so maybe next year will be the year she decides to be more independent and open her own gifts.....since we will have an 8 month old crawling around as well!

Speaking of our soon to be new little one, we had a recent ultrasound done and he is now 12 ounces, and thank goodness I have the right amount of amniotic fluid at this point. My doctor will be tracking that to make sure that the level doesn't go down, but so far so good. No, still no decision on the name...but since we have a friend painting a mural on the walls of his room, we want him to add a name on the wall as well. So, we will be needing to decide within the next month! So, pray for us!

Lastly, going back to X-mas, we had a great time spending it with our family, no matter how stressful it is at times. We got everything we wanted and needed, and are very grateful for that. Also, for generous grandparents who spoil the heck out of Sophie and she loves every minute of it. Thanks to family we now have a gazillion toys that all play different songs at the same time, in our house right now! Looking forward to next year, when we realize that we've truly outgrown our house. Here are a few X-mas pictures for everyone.

Sophie's 1st picture on X-mas morning, crazy hair!
Sophie opening a present from Santa....and we're in the proces of changing her clothes.

Getting her new trike for an early X-mas present. Can't ride well yet, but takes all her animals for a ride!

seeing Santa

Well, this year I decided that we should go visit our Santa in our neighborhood before venturing out to wait in the mall lines to see the Big Santa. So, last weekend I dressed Sophie up in her X-mas dress and took her to see the Santa that our neighborhood had.....knowing that it might not go well since she's now 16 months old.
Well, "not going well" is an understatement! Sophie has never been one to be afraid of anything or anyone for that matter, but when she saw Santa she flipped out...screaming and crying hysterically! It didn't get any better with me holding her on one side of me and Santa being on my other side (yes, I was in the picture....not the plan). So I decided that since we had no plans for a while that we'd sit next to Santa's chair and eat cookies, so maybe she'd warm up to him....plus food never hurts in Sophie's case. So, the pictures we got were after 30 MINUTES of sitting next to Santa and warming up just a bit to him. I still couldn't get out of the picture, but atleast she wasn't crying! That poor Santa, he just thought she was a doll and tried to persuade her with candy and everything...but nothing worked.
I guess I can always look back on her 1st visit to Santa, when she was 4 months old and enjoy those (when she couldn't have cared less who has holding her, even if it was Santa!)

She's obviously not easily bribed, no candy cane did the trick.

Atleast she looks a bit more interested in Santa in this picture.

Of course....she's signing "eat", because she figures she's not sitting near Santa without getting some cookies! Smart girl.

latest visit to TX. Children's

Well, this entry isn't very exciting...but since people have asked about the latest on Miss Sophie's acid reflux problem, that still is yet to be solved, I figured I'd post this entry this week sometime.
We went to TX. Children's on Tuesday to take Sophie to see a new GI Dr., since we were thoroughly unhappy with her last GI Dr. The new Dr. was very thorough and had MANY ideas for Sophie. So, we have options to take 3 new meds, if that doesn't work then she'll run a few different tests to see where the actual problem is and what it is, then if all else fails there is surgery. She encouraged us that Sophie still has a while to grow out of her acid reflux, and then proceeded to put her on a new medication and up her dosage of prevacid, her current medication. She's only been on the new med. for 2 days, but she's been doing wonderfully and having no spit ups at all! So, keep your fingers crossed that this med. keeps working, the Dr. said that it shouldn't take long to start working...if it's going to work. We're only giving it 2 weeks, then we're supposed to call the Dr. to change the med. if it's not working. All that we've been through since Sophie's birth has been wild, but I am so thankful that we have TX. Children's to take her to!
Keep us in your thoughts and prayers, and send up a little prayer that the next baby doesn't have acid reflux!! Meanwhile, a few new pictures.

Her newest thing to do is lift up her shirt and point to her belly button....and everyone else's unfortunately!

Her eyes can't open with the flash on the camera.....so out comes, a wierd face.

Thanksgiving

Well, we have been getting ready for Thanksgiving as a family, and I might mention that I am SOOO ready to eat! We will be staying in town and going to my parents house on Thursday, so that makes things easy on us.
Also, news for anyone who may not know....our next little one is a BOY! So, we're looking forward to all kinds of new experiences when he arrives. I'm guessing I might need to ease up on my idea of cleanliness and being neat all the time. But I am looking forward to not having yet another "drama queen" in the house. Speaking of which, here are a few recent pictures of our little drama queen.

Boy, she's like a professional pouter!

She still loves to climb, so in and out of her toy basket she goes...all day.

The beginning....

So, I'm not all that sure of what I'm doing, but this is a first time effort at trying to blog. I'm not all that computer savvy, but all my firneds that have blogs about their kids and all are adorable! So....I figured I'd try. Feel free to delete, or not read until things get exciting! Things that have happened lately...Sophie is growing like a weed, I swear just yesterday she was born! Now she's 15 months old, and will have a baby brother or sister in May. We are very excited, here are a few recent pictures of our little princess.
