Happy 1st Birthday Brody!!!

April 27th is when my little man turns a year old! It makes me a little sad even writing this because I feel like turning 1 is only the start of him no longer being a baby. Then comes 2, and they are definitely the opposite of an infant then! I looked back on pictures of when we first brough him home, and he was so scrawny and bald. It's hard to believe he will be a year old on Tuesday. Happy Birthday Brody.....things I love about my little man:
1. The way he cries, but not real tears, when he just wants to be picked up and snuggled.
2. The way he crawls over to me and just lays his head down on my lap.
3. How he plays with his hair when he's tired.
4. How he lights up when he learns something new.
5. When he follows Sophie around, just dying to play with her...he tries his fastest crawl to keep up with her!
6. His temper isn't always fun, but it is cute to see him slap his hands on the floor and throw his head back when he's frustrated.
7. How quickly he forgets things, and just moves on to find another toy
8. How happy he is when he accomplishes climbing up on something....he holds both of his arms up in the air like Rocky!
9. His cute hair...and how little there is of it!
10. How easy going he has been this first year of life.
Happy Birthday Bro-Bro, we love you!!!

It's Official

Well, not good news on the Sullivan front. It's official that Brody will be getting tubes in his ears and his adenoids removed. May 11th is the big day! We went to his ENT yesterday and he determined that Brody still has a lot of fluid in his ears, and oddly enough, he failed the hearing test because of it. I always thought he could hear just fine! So, sadly we will be making the trip back to TX. Ch., again to the dreaded 7th floor (same place Sophie had her upper GI surgery), on May 11th. I hope everything goes as he says it will, I am never a fan of kids going under anesthesia, and seeing them come out of it is very disturbing to me.....so let's pray this will be the last time that ANY of our kids have to be put under! Good news is, that he'll still be able to do his swimming, which he's getting really good at.

My Little Climber

Lately Brody has spent his time trying to find things to climb on! No, he doesn't walk yet....but he loves to climb. I'd say his OT is working with him too much, luckily this month will probably be the last that she works with him. The hard part about him climbing is that he doesn't know how to get down, so he usually ends up face planting on the ground. Yes, that's why he always has bruises on his head....not because I beat him! Who could, after looking at that face???? This is his newest thing to climb on.....
Looking all innocent...

He just crawls across the whole thing...

Outside Fun

Since it's been sooo warm lately, we have started filling up the water table again! Last year Sophie was so little that she'd sit in it like a pool, so I had to explain to her that this year she was too big for that. It was Brody's first time playing with the table, and he splashed the water everywhere...just as he does in the bathtub! They both had a great time, and I can't wait for summer to be here so we can play in the water everyday.

The kids have also started their swim lessons. Well, Sophie is taking a refresher class from last year, and Brody is learning to swim altogether. I haven't gotten to take any pictures, since I am too busy keeping Brody out of the pool while Sophie does her lesson. I will get some soon though. Sophie loves it, of course, and is excited to get back to swimming. Brody is getting there, he still drinks a lot of water at every lesson but he's getting the "rolling over" motion down, so his teacher is impressed. 1 week down, 5 more to go...

Water table fun

He laughed at all the bugs at the bottom of the pool....he finds EVERYTHING funny!
