So far, not much has been happening, I'm just trying to balance my time between chasing Sophie around parks (she's quite the climber), and getting as much time as possible to sit down. At my last Dr. visit (I am now 25 weeks), I mentioned to him that I have been having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions, sometimes more than 4 an hour....which means that I need to rest more. I don't think he really understands that Sophie doesn't even know the meaning of REST! So, hopefully those will slow down. Also, I was told, that to keep my amniotic fluid level high I need to be drinking TONS of water, which I hate. But since that was the reason why Sophie had to come into the world so early, I know that I need to take that advice. Good news is that I passed my glucose test, which I failed with Sophie, and painfully had to do the second 5 hour test. I'm glad to not be stuck chugging a delicious (that term used very loosely), orange drink again for yet another test. Plus, now I can eat all the carbs I want for the rest of my pregnancy, which is all I'm craving these days! Lastly, I go back to my Dr. in a month (late Feb.), and at that point he will do an ultrasound so check my amniotic fluid, and do a growth check with some new and fancy growth scan machine. That way he can make sure that the baby isn't growth restricted, like Sophie was, and let me know that he will be a healthy, big boy at birth.
As far as our little princess Sophie goes....she's on the last medicine that her GI Dr. wants her to try, and I can't really say if it works or not. It will be wonderful for a week or more, then she will spend 3 days straight spitting up. I am talking to the Dr. tomorrow to see what she feels we should do next. I will say that this med. has worked better than any of the others, so at least that's something. Other than that, she just keeps getting more grown up each day! She's very independent and could probably do more things by herself, if I'd only let her. These days she can feed herself, as long as I get the food on the utensil. She also takes a bath now without her beloved seat she use to always use. She's learning and doing more sign language everyday, and loves to dance and throw a ball to you (she has a very cute technique for that!) No more news past that.
Sitting with grandpa at X-mas....sorry, no recent pics!
