So, news on the.....smallest one in our family, I'd call him by his name, but do you think Nick and I have agreed yet?? NO! At my last ultrasound, which was right before X-mas, he was 12 oz. which is normal and my amniotic fluid was at a normal level. Good news, since I had to be induced 6 weeks early with Sophie due to low amniotic fluid. So, everything is good with him so far. We have a brilliant friend painting a mural on the walls of his room as we speak. Pictures will soon go up of his room, because we are exciting about how it's coming along! I'm just sorry that we didn't meet these friends sooner.
As for Sophie, she had a horrible cold over X-mas, and we started her on a new medicine for her reflux at the same time. So, once she got over her cold, we realized that the way she was acting was due to her new medicine. For future reference, if anyone hears of the medicine Reglan (it's not just for kids, or reflux even), don't put a drop of it in your mouth or anyone else's. We were aware of the possible side effects, but what we experienced with Sophie were different ones and very horrible to deal with! Needless to say, I regret ever having put her on Reglan, and I took her off after 2 weeks of it and now she's resumed her happy, normal life. Her GI Dr. has now put her on Bethanecol, which is supposed to help her keep things down, just what she needs. It also has no side effects that are bad, so that's a plus! So, we sit and wait another 2 weeks to see what happens to out little one, but so far so good. Sophie will be starting a toddler music class next week that's being offered at Second Baptist Church, then she will start her swim lessons on March 2nd and go everyday for 3-4 weeks. It's starting to look like we will be kept busy until this next baby comes.
Everytime I think about having 2 little ones in the house I get a little anxiety, well use to. But over the X-mas break I found out that 5 of my friends that already have 1 little one, are now pregnant with their 2nd as well. Plus I have a few friends who have recently had their second baby, fairly close within age to their first. So, I have started to feel that I will have a great support system once the new one arrives. A little thank you to all my friends with 2 kiddos, that have expressed to me that things will be okay........so I now feel comfortable enough to call you when I'm at home by myself and freaking out with the 2 kiddos! So, don't even think about acting like I'm being irrational....I'm warning you now.....just listen to me cry and freak out! Thanks guys.
Until next time, some new pictures.....I think.
Sophie, when she was sick, looking all pitiful. I don't think she moved from that spot for days!Playtime in the tub, she looks like she's feeling much better!
